As a catalyst and architect for the social innovation ecosystem in China, the Leping Social Entrepreneur Foundation accelerates the rapid development of innovative social enterprises through impact-driven investments to facilitate their potential for large-scale social impact. Through a collection of knowledge-based products, Leping develops the social innovation talent pool and idea marketplace. By fostering an ecosystem for a diverse community of social entrepreneurs, Leping promotes achievable, scalable growth for social enterprises.

Year 2002

In April 2002, Beijing Fuping Development Institute was
registered as a private non-enterprise organization.
In October, Fuping Domestic Service Centre was founded.

Year 2004

In June 2004, the Board of Fuping Development Institute was founded.

Year 2006

In May 2006, Beijing Fuping Development Institute merged with the
Institute for Environment and Development, and was reorganized.

Year 2008

In September 2008, Fuping Venture Investment Co., Ltd., focusing on social investment.

Year 2009

In June 2009, Shanxi Yongji Microfinance Project was reshaped into Yongji
Fuping Microcredit Co., Ltd. Leping also launched a microfinance project
in Dayi County, as well as Fuping-Daichi Ecological Agriculture Project.

Year 2010

In July 2010, Leping launched Social Innovation Leadership Excellence Program.
In November, Leping Social Entrepreneur Foundation was registered, and the
Fuping-Little Oak Tree Pre-School Education Project was launched.

Year 2011

In October 2011, the Fuping-Little Oak Tree Pre-School Education Project
was registered as Thousand Trees Equal Education Partners Co., Ltd.

Year 2012

In April 2012, the microfinance project in Dayi County, Chengdu
Province was registered as Chengdu Dayi Fuping Microcredit Co., Ltd.

Year 2013

In January 2013, Fuping-Daichi Ecological Agriculture Project was registered as
Fuping Chuangyuan Ecological Agriculture Technology Development Co., Ltd.
In May, Leping launched Social Venture Partners China.

Year 2014

In 2014, Leping Scholars Program was initiated, and
Leping’s thought leadership was amplified by research,
communications and international partnership.

Year 2015

In 2015, Leping and the School of Humanities at Tsinghua University co-founded
the Research Center for China Social Innovation & Modern and Contemporary History.
A strategic partnership with Stanford PACS was established.

Year 2016

Began a collaboration with Stanford University's Center for Philanthropy and Civil Society Research (PACS) to publish the Stanford Social Innovation Review Chinese Edition;
Established the SVP China Social Innovation Investment Fund;
Co-sponsored with the Macau Tongji Philanthropy Association to jointly launch the "China Rural Preschool Education Collective Impact Action"

Year 2017

Leping became the main advocate for B Corp in China;
Leping-SVP China Social Innovation Investment Fund made the first joint venture investment in public buildings;
Leping became the publisher of Stanford Social Innovation Review Chinese and Asian Supplement;
Logos changed but mission remains unchanged;

Signed a partnership memorandum with B Lab to promote BIA's application and improvement in China;
Prepared for the establishment of B Lab in China to lead and create more synergies to gain wider global influence.
