Leping Social Entrepreneur Foundation was the brainchild of several renowned Chinese economists, scholars and business leaders, including Mao Yushi, Zi Zhongyun, Liu Chuanzhi, etc. Though officially registered in October, 2010, Leping has been dedicated to social innovation since 2002, when we created one of China’s first social enterprises, Beijing Fuping Vocational Training School. In the years since, Leping has blazed a trail of venture creation of other social enterprises: Yongji Fuping Microcredit Co., Ltd., Thousand Trees Equal Education Partners Co., Ltd., Fuping Chuangyuan Ecological Agriculture Technology Development Co., Ltd., and Chengdu Dayi Fuping Microcredit Co., Ltd. in a dispersed early market. Since 2013, while social innovation in China has been proceeding towards the stage of market building, Leping has realized its role of catalyst to accelerate the scaling of social impact by introducing new investment models. Additionally, as the pioneering market builder for social innovation and equipped with network leadership, Leping has been fostering a talent and ideas market and an ecosystem in which social innovation can flourish.
Leping Social Entrepreneur Foundation is dedicated to perpetuating an inclusive society that provides all individuals with equal opportunities for development. Over the past several years, the Internet and various social media have brought about an increased awareness of social issues, which coincides with the emergence of B Corp, Good Economy and other innovations that inspire businesses and entrepreneurs to address pressing social issues. The field continues to evolve at an exciting pace, with new social-innovation initiatives emerging across the country. Throughout, Leping has been a catalyst and market maker for social innovation in China, and we continue our efforts to expand financial resources, energize the talent pool, and stimulate thought leadership.
Reflecting the dynamic and rapidly changing face of social innovation, Leping is changing its own face with a set of new logos. The updated designs have a more vibrant and youthful look, while retaining an iconic core element: the Chinese character “ping” (平). The logos more accurately symbolize our constant endeavors to create equal development opportunities for every individual and set the standard of excellence in social innovation. The series is comprised of a main logo and four complementary ones, underscoring the diversity of our efforts. Green and blue are the key colors, for they express optimism, growth and a strong connection to the Earth. Indeed, the new logos declare that we keep our eyes on the stars and our feet on the ground.
